Frey
& Son General Manager Honored for Outstanding Custom
Home Construction
Barry Frey, general manager of Frey & Son Homes,
is a winner in the Production category of the eighth
annual Pacesetter Award. Frey and other winners from
across the nation are featured in the November/December
issue of Custom Home magazine, which co-sponsors the
award along with the National Association of Home Builder’s
(NAHB) Custom Builder’s Committee.
The
Pacesetter Award honors professionals who have demonstrated
the highest level of performance and the strongest commitment
to excellence in six areas of the custom home building
business. In addition to Frey’s production category,
winners were honored for management, customer service,
marketing, design, and innovation.
“Producing
$20 million of annual custom home volume means managing
a staggering number of individual decision and operations,”
states the article in Custom Home. “Barry Frey
rides herd on this unruly process with a simple but
powerful principle: Get things down on paper.”
Utilizing
Frey’s extensive checklist system to track every
task, his team is not only more productive, they enjoy
less stress due to their well-deserved faith in the
system’s ability to help them stay on track. Additionally,
because his philosophy stresses continuous improvement,
Frey constantly seeks input from his staff and subcontractors
to improve the system and guarantee their success.
“This
system of checklists allows our team to be proactive
not reactive,” says Frey. “It’s essential
to keeping our business and our team productive and
working efficiently together.”
