Born in State College, Pennsylvania, Barry has been a resident of Florida since 1972. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania. Barry is a Florida licensed General Contractor and Real Estate Broker.

Barry was initially employed by the company in 1977 doing odd jobs during the summer for the family business. Through college Barry worked in various capacities for the company including assistant superintendent, punch out man, carpenter, and programmer for the company purchasing systems. Upon graduation from college in 1985 Barry has worked full-time for the company. In 1994 Barry was named President.

In addition to his involvement with the business Barry has been a member of the Collier County Building Industry Association, the Lee County Building Industry Association, the Naples Area Board of Realtors, President of the University of Pennsylvania Alumni Association, member of the Polo Club, member of the United Way disbursement review committee, contributor to the Bonita Springs YMCA, member of the Sanibel Community Church, and active supporter and sponsor of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southwest Florida.
